THE ARTIST
Kyle Black is an artist and craftsman with roots as a surfboard shaper for over a decade. After becoming ill from exposure to chemically based materials, he transitioned to building furniture from salvaged wood left in the wake of Puerto Rico’s hurricanes. This healing shift deepened his reverence for trees and the stories they carry.
Today, Kyle carves abstract forms by hand from sustainably sourced and repurposed wood. Each piece emerges as a somatic expression of the human psyche—an invitation to ground, to ease, and to connect.
His goal is to create works that engage the senses—not only through sight but also through touch—fostering a deeper relationship with both the art and the natural world.
